For our first assignment in visual art, we were tasked with the composition of our hearts <3
The lesson involved the creation of a heart using four analogous colours with a wet-to-wet pastel technique. We were also required to use white pastel in order to create tints somewhere in the composition. After the completion of the actual art work, we were then to write a reflection to explain our artistic choices on size, shape, placement, and colour within the work. Following our own reflection, we then exchanged projects with another teacher candidate to determine what we could interpret from each others' art work.
The Learning Goals for this lesson were to:
The lesson included several parts such as: demonstration and instruction (minds on); application (hands on); self-reflection (consolidation); peer interpretation (review); and submission of the final composition (assessment).
